Over the past months, we’ve focused our efforts on refining our mastering system based on your feedback. To give you more agency and control over your sound while maintaining the premium quality Masterchannel is known for, we’ve built a brand-new mastering flow.
Below is a breakdown of the new features available to test right now, followed by a look at what is still to come.
What’s New in the Beta Flow
- Project Type*: Choose whether you are mastering a Single, EP, Album, or Bulk project. The system automatically adjusts its mastering approach based on your selection.
- Engineer Selection*: Select your preferred engineer profile and view details on what’s unique about their output.
- Upload Song(s)*: Upload one or multiple tracks. Note: We currently only accept .WAV-files, but support for more formats is coming soon.
- Genres: Add up to three genres to help the system better understand the sonic characteristics of your song.
- Moods: Select the mood you are aiming for. You can choose up to ten, but staying concise will help you get the best results.
- Reference Tracks: Add up to three reference tracks to guide the system’s sonic target.
- Before & After Listening: Preview your track by toggling between the original and mastered versions, just like before.
- Analysis Features: Toggle between different views above the player window to access visual analysis tools. In this Beta version, not all views are available yet.
- Advanced Controls: By popular demand, you can now fine-tune the final audio to your personal taste. Click ‘Advanced Controls’ and activate it to adjust:
- Lows: Reduce or boost the Low End.
- Mids: Reduce or boost the Mids.
- Highs: Reduce or boost the High End.
- Gain: Reduce or boost the overall volume before limiting.
- Stereo: Adjusts the perceived stereo width by reducing or boosting the volume of the side channel.
- Download: Once you are happy with your master, click ‘Download’ to export and download the project to your computer.

What’s Coming Next
We want to be fully transparent about what is missing from the Beta that will be included in the full launch.
The upcoming features below are not listed in any specific order. If you have any feedback on what we should prioritize, or if you notice something missing, let us know via email at support@masterchannel.ai or through the chat widget on our website.
- More File Formats: We will be adding support for
.mp3,.aiff,.m4a, and.flac. - Improved Upload Feedback: To make troubleshooting easier, we are adding clear error messages and validation alerts if an invalid file type or upload error occurs.
- Expanded Analysis Features: We are expanding our visual tools to include:
- EQ Analysis: Visualizes exactly how the frequency balance changed from your original mix to the final master.
- Imaging: Displays the stereo perception of your track before and after mastering.
- Save Custom Settings: You will soon be able to save your custom Advanced Control settings and easily apply them to future mastering sessions or other tracks in an album.
- Save Songs In Library: When we fully launch this service, all songs and projects will be added to your library.
- More Engineers: We are developing additional virtual engineer profiles to offer even more variation across different genres, moods, and production techniques.
