How to master your song WITHOUT spending a ton of money on fancy gear and plugins!

Recently, the YouTuber Trifreeze posted a video about how you can use Masterchannel to reference your own mix – in order to get it to sound as good as possible. This is a great use case for artists wanting to speed up the process and showcases the true strength of the Masterchannel service.

In short, the way Trifreeze uses Masterchannel is as follows:

  1. Mixes in DAW (Digital Audio Workstation): He starts off by polishing his track in FL Studio and mixes it as best as he can.

  2. Upload to Masterchannel: He then exports the song and uploads it to Masterchannel. After the song has been mastered with Masterchannel, he downloads it and drags & drops into back to FL Studio.

  3. Compare files: In FL Studio, he now has two files:
    • The first one is his original mix that he made.
    • The second is the mastered file from Masterchannel.

  4. Reference your track: He then examines how Masterchannel mastered his track, and uses that as a reference when optimizing his own mix.

For many artists it can be hard or time consuming to always reference, and especially if they prefer the outcome from Masterchannel. In those cases, a mastered song from Masterchannel is always optimized for release, meaning it is technically ready to be distributed via your favorite distributor.

This is a great way of using Masterchannel when mixing, and we encourage you to try it out yourself by clicking the button down below 👇
